Zinedine Zidane appointed head coach of France national team

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been appointed head coach of the France national football team, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Tuesday. Zidane, who led Real Madrid to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles between 2016 and 2021, signs a three‑year contract that will see him take charge of the Les Bleus ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

The appointment follows France’s recent exit from the 2022 World Cup knockout stage and the federation’s decision to replace long‑time manager Didier Deschamps. Zidane, a former France captain and World Cup winner in 1998, brings extensive experience both as a player and a coach.
