Xbox Reintroduces Classic Boot Animations in New Insider Test

Microsoft has begun testing a suite of new features on its Xbox consoles with the Insiders program. The updates let testers customize the console’s boot animation, choosing from the original Xbox One screen, the Xbox One X startup, the original Xbox Series X/S animation, or the new “We Are Xbox” sequence. The company also added more personalization options for user badges, a refreshed local search function, and clearer voice‑chat audio.

In addition to visual tweaks, the test build improves Remote Play performance and introduces the ability to download cloud games while they are being streamed. These enhancements aim to streamline the gaming experience on the console, providing smoother transitions between local and cloud gameplay and better audio clarity for multiplayer sessions.

The rollout is limited to the Insiders program and does not include boot screens from the original Xbox or Xbox 360, which are restricted to Xbox One and later models. Users who opt into the program will be able to experiment with these new features and provide feedback to Microsoft before a broader release.
