World Nomad Games begin in Bishkek with over 100 national teams

The sixth edition of the World Nomad Games opened in Bishkek with a spectacular performance at the arena, marking the event’s largest scale to date. The opening ceremony showcased traditional music, dance, and equestrian displays that highlighted the cultural heritage of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia.

More than 100 national teams from every continent have registered to compete in 43 disciplines that draw on ancient nomadic skills, including horse riding, archery, wrestling, and traditional sports such as kok-boru and kok-bulak. The Games aim to promote cultural exchange while celebrating the athletic prowess of participants who represent a wide range of countries.

As the competition progresses, organizers anticipate a high level of international participation and view the event as a platform for preserving and sharing the rich nomadic traditions of Asia with a global audience.
