Wildfire forces evacuation of nearly 12,000 tourists in southwest France

A wildfire in the forest of Le Porge, southwest France, forced the evacuation of just under 12,000 people, the majority of whom were tourists, on Thursday. The blaze ignited at midday on Wednesday and has since spread rapidly, prompting the deployment of hundreds of firefighters to the area.
