Wildberries Hit by Ukrainian Drone Strike Again

Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, suffered a new drone strike on Thursday, 22 August, when a Ukrainian drone hit one of its distribution centers in the city of Orenburg. The attack damaged the warehouse’s loading dock and caused a fire that was extinguished by the facility’s fire‑fighting system. According to the company’s spokesperson, no employees were injured, but the blast damaged several pallets of goods and temporarily halted operations in the affected zone.

The strike follows a series of drone attacks on commercial infrastructure across Russia that have intensified since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022. Ukrainian officials have said the drones were part of a broader campaign to disrupt Russian supply chains, while Russian authorities have condemned the attacks as violations of international law. Wildberries has pledged to resume full service at the site within 48 hours and has urged customers to use alternative delivery options while repairs are carried out.

Wildberries’ management has reiterated its commitment to maintaining service continuity for its millions of customers and has requested that the government provide additional security measures for its logistics hubs.
