WHO warehouse in Kyiv region damaged by overnight airstrike, endangering medical aid

An overnight airstrike on Friday damaged a principal World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse that stores humanitarian medical supplies in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, the UN agency confirmed. The strike, which occurred amid ongoing hostilities in the country, targeted one of the main depots used by WHO to distribute essential medicines, vaccines and medical equipment to health facilities and displaced populations across the war‑torn area.

WHO officials said the damage has disrupted the flow of critical health commodities, prompting an immediate assessment of inventory losses and a request for additional security measures to protect remaining stockpiles.
