WHO reports over 3,200 attacks on Ukraine healthcare facilities since invasion
Since Russia launched its full‑scale invasion of Ukraine, a total of 3,205 attacks have been recorded against healthcare facilities, the World Health Organization’s Representative for Ukraine, Jarno Habicht, said on Friday after fresh overnight strikes. The figure, compiled by WHO monitoring teams, reflects a sustained pattern of targeting medical infrastructure throughout the conflict that began in February 2022.
Habicht emphasized that the latest wave of bombings underscores the ongoing risk to patients, staff and essential services, complicating efforts to deliver care in already strained regions. The organization continues to document violations, call for the protection of health sites under international law, and coordinate humanitarian assistance to mitigate the impact on Ukraine’s health system.
