US military launches sixth consecutive day of airstrikes on Iran

The U.S. military launched a new wave of airstrikes against Iranian targets on Thursday, marking the sixth consecutive day of attacks aimed at degrading Tehran’s military capabilities. According to U.S. Central Command, the strikes began at 2 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and were carried out by U.S. aircraft operating from bases in the Middle East.

The operation was launched less than an hour after the White House announced that Iranian officials were implicated in recent attacks on U.S. personnel in the region. The Central Command confirmed that the targets were chosen to reduce Iran’s ability to conduct missile and drone attacks, citing intelligence that the strikes would hit command and control facilities, missile launch sites and associated infrastructure.
