US lifts export controls on Anthropic's Fable and Mythos AI models

Anthropic, the San Francisco‑based AI firm, temporarily suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for all foreign nationals last month after the U.S. government raised safety concerns about the potential for the technology to be used in serious cyber‑attacks. The pause, which lasted more than two weeks, was part of a broader review of the models’ export compliance and alignment with national security standards.

During the blackout, Anthropic worked closely with U.S. regulators to address the identified risks.
