US Firm Partners with Blue Energy Partners to Acquire Venezuelan Oilfields
The White House announced on Monday that it is partnering with North American Blue Energy Partners to expand U.S. involvement in Venezuela’s oil sector. The deal, part of President Donald Trump’s strategy to tap into Venezuelan reserves, will give the Pentagon a stake in roughly one‑fifth of the country’s oil holdings.
The partnership follows a vote by Venezuela’s National Assembly, dominated by the ruling party, which approved the oil agreement with the Trump administration on Tuesday. The arrangement is intended to facilitate the extraction and export of Venezuelan hydrocarbons, while aligning U.S. military and energy interests.
The agreement marks a significant shift in U.S. policy toward Venezuela, signaling a move to leverage American corporate and military resources in a country long subject to international sanctions. The White House has not yet disclosed the financial terms or the specific projects to be undertaken under the partnership.
