US Ambassador to Israel visits West Bank village Turmus Ayya

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee made a diplomatic stop in Turmus Ayya, a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank, on Thursday. The visit marks the first time a senior U.S. envoy to Israel has traveled to the area since the appointment of the new ambassador, underscoring Washington’s interest in maintaining direct contact with communities affected by the ongoing Israeli‑Palestinian conflict.

During the three‑hour stop, Ambassador Huckabee met with local council members, business owners and representatives of humanitarian groups, according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. The discussions focused on security cooperation, economic development initiatives and the humanitarian needs of residents, while both Israeli and Palestinian officials were briefed on the U.S. position regarding stability in the region. The embassy said the trip was intended to “enhance dialogue with on‑the‑ground stakeholders” and will inform future U.S. policy efforts aimed at supporting a negotiated resolution to the conflict.
