US Adults Support Increasingly Popular Cellphone Bans in Schools

A growing number of Americans are backing the implementation of cellphone bans in schools, according to a recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center. The study found that a significant majority of US adults, 77%, support prohibiting the use of cellphones in middle and high school classes. Furthermore, nearly half of respondents, 48%, also expressed support for a more comprehensive ban that would restrict cellphone use for the entire school day.

This shift in public opinion marks a notable change from two years ago, when just 36% of American adults supported an all-day cellphone ban. The survey results indicate that support for in-class bans is widespread across all age groups, with most respondents in favor of such restrictions. While support for all-day bans is lower, it still garners at least half of the vote across most age demographics.
