Upcoming Space Launches

The first full week of August is poised to be a hectic period for spaceflight, with a packed launch manifest that includes a mix of commercial and national missions. Among the most anticipated is a series of Starlink satellite deployments by SpaceX, scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on the 6th. The launch will carry a new batch of high‑throughput satellites designed to expand broadband coverage in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition, AST SpaceMobile plans to launch its own satellite constellation from Cape Canaveral on the 8th, using a Falcon 9 rocket to deploy a series of low‑Earth orbit satellites that will provide global mobile connectivity.

Chinese space agencies also feature prominently in the week’s lineup. A Long March 5B rocket is slated to lift off on the 10th from the Wenchang Launch Site, carrying a payload of Earth‑observation satellites for the China National Space Administration. Meanwhile, a smaller Long March 2C is scheduled for the 12th to deploy a series of microsatellites for the China Academy of Space Technology. These missions, coupled with the commercial launches, underscore the increasing frequency and diversity of space operations as the industry moves toward a more crowded orbital environment.
