UN reports 455 Israeli projectiles and 97 airspace breaches in south Lebanon over weekend

Israeli forces launched a massive barrage into southern Lebanon, firing 455 projectiles and breaching Lebanese airspace 97 times between Friday and Sunday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported on Monday. The intensity of the strikes represents one of the heaviest periods of fire in the region in recent months, raising concerns about escalating tensions along the Israel‑Lebanon border.

UNIFIL said the operations were carried out in response to cross‑border attacks attributed to Hezbollah, though the exact targets of the projectiles were not disclosed.
