UEFA, Concacaf Call on FIFA to Pay $10M to Each of 211 Member Associations

UEFA and CONCACAF released a joint statement today urging FIFA to disburse $10 million from its cash reserves to each of the 211 member associations worldwide. The call comes as the governing body’s financial position has been under scrutiny, with several national federations citing a need for additional funding to support grassroots development, infrastructure projects and competitive participation.

In the statement, the two confederations highlighted that the proposed allocation would help level the playing field across regions, ensuring that smaller associations receive resources comparable to those of larger, wealthier football nations. They noted that the requested sum would be drawn from FIFA’s existing reserves, which have been earmarked for development and solidarity programmes, and that the move would reinforce the organization’s commitment to equitable support for all member bodies.

FIFA officials have not yet responded to the request, and it remains unclear how the proposal would be implemented or whether it would face opposition from other confederations. The call, however, signals growing pressure on FIFA to address perceived funding disparities and could prompt a review of the association’s financial distribution policies in the coming months.
