Twins Release New EP 'There&Back' in Bollywood Electronic Style

Omar and Jamal Ikram, 21‑year‑old brothers from Aldershot, Hampshire, have carved out a niche in contemporary pop with their debut album *Turmeric*. The duo describes their music as “Bollywood electronic,” a blend of lo‑fi glitchy dance‑pop and melodic elements drawn from South Asian pop. Their sound has been compared to artists such as 2hollis, the Hellp and Jai Paul, while also incorporating the frenetic energy of early Skrillex and the experimental noise of Aphex Twin.

*Turmeric* was released last year and gained modest attention through a collaboration with rising British rapper Fakemink, as well as a monthly NTS radio show of the same name. The show mixes classic British pop acts like Lily Allen, Punjabi musicians such as Sukshinder Shinda, and contemporary electronic artists including the Hellp and Sophia Stel, creating a late‑night pirate‑radio vibe. In May the Ikram brothers followed up with the EP *There&Back*, featuring louder, wilder collaborations with Rada and Varg2TM that further refine their signature style.

The twins have stated that their goal is to empower listeners, particularly those of South Asian descent, to feel free from restrictive labels. “We don’t want brown kids to feel like they have to fit into anything,” Jamal said in an interview, underscoring their commitment to artistic freedom and cultural inclusivity.
