Turkey details defence pact mechanisms with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

Three nations have agreed to coordinate their defence ministries, conduct joint military exercises and expand cooperation within the defence industry as part of a recently signed pact. The arrangement calls for regular ministerial meetings to align strategic priorities, the planning of combined training operations, and the sharing of technology and procurement expertise among the signatories. Officials described the framework as a means to improve interoperability, streamline resource use and strengthen collective security capabilities.

The initiative reflects a broader trend of multilateral defence collaboration aimed at addressing shared regional challenges and enhancing deterrence. By institutionalising ministerial dialogue and joint operational activities, the three countries intend to deepen their industrial ties, foster joint research and development, and create a more integrated approach to future threats. The pact’s implementation is expected to begin with the first ministerial gathering later this year, followed by coordinated exercises scheduled for the next twelve months.
