Tecno Unveils Concept Phone with Truly Bezel-Free Display

For years smartphone manufacturers have chased the illusion of a truly edge‑to‑edge display, shrinking the black bezels that frame the screen. By the mid‑2010s most phones had bezel widths of just a millimeter or so, and the industry largely accepted that as the practical limit. Yet the trend has stalled, with manufacturers maintaining the same minimal bezel size across new models.

Tecno, a budget‑segment brand under the same umbrella as Itel and Infinix, has taken a different tack. The company unveiled a concept phone dubbed the “Bezelless,” which pushes the bezel even further toward zero. While the device is not slated for commercial release, it showcases a design that eliminates the visible frame entirely, offering a fully immersive screen experience that could set a new benchmark for future devices.

If Tecno’s concept proves viable, it could prompt a shift in the industry’s approach to display design, encouraging other manufacturers to revisit bezel reduction beyond the current minimal standard. For now, the Bezelless remains a prototype, but it signals that the quest for a seamless visual experience is still very much alive.
