Sumatran tiger cubs receive first health checks at Greek zoo

Three critically endangered Sumatran tiger cubs were vaccinated and micro‑chipped at the Attica Zoological Park, a facility located just outside Athens, as part of a coordinated conservation program. The procedure, carried out by the zoo’s veterinary team, included a full immunisation schedule against common feline diseases and the implantation of RFID micro‑chips to facilitate long‑term monitoring of the animals’ health and movements.

The cubs, each less than a year old, are part of a breeding initiative aimed at bolstering the dwindling Sumatran tiger population.
