Study Finds Over 100 European Politicians on Explicit Deepfake Sites

A recent analysis of 160 deep‑fake websites identified political figures from 22 different nations featured in the fabricated videos. The study, conducted by a coalition of cybersecurity researchers, found that the overwhelming majority of the individuals depicted are women, highlighting a gendered pattern in the creation and distribution of political deep fakes.

The researchers noted that the sites host a range of synthetic content, from speeches to personal interviews, often designed to spread misinformation or undermine public trust.
