Spokane Man Arrested for Alleged Wildfire Arson

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County Sheriff’s Office officials announced Monday that Aaron F. Farinacci, 37, of Spokane, was arrested and booked on suspicion of first‑degree arson for allegedly igniting one of the wildfires that have ravaged the area surrounding Washington’s second‑largest city. The arrest follows a multi‑agency investigation that linked Farinacci to the blaze, which officials say contributed to the destruction of hundreds of homes and other structures in the region.

The fire, part of a series of blazes that have swept through eastern Washington this season, prompted evacuations, forced the deployment of state and local firefighting resources, and resulted in extensive property loss. Sheriff’s Office spokespersons indicated that the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges could be filed pending further evidence. Farinacci is being held pending a court appearance, and authorities said the case will proceed through the criminal justice system.
