Sony to Close PS3 and Vita Digital Stores

Sony has announced that it will shut down the PlayStation Store on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, marking the end of digital distribution for the two legacy consoles. The company said the PS3 store will close in select markets later this year, beginning with Mexico, Honduras and Nicaragua in August, and will extend to additional Latin American and Middle‑Eastern countries in late 2026. The remaining regions will see the service discontinued in July 2027.

Once the shutdown takes effect, owners of PS3 and PS Vita will no longer be able to purchase new content from the store. However, Sony will allow users to continue downloading games they have already purchased, ensuring that existing libraries remain accessible for the foreseeable future.
