Snapchat Launches Plans Feature to Organize In-App Events
Snapchat has introduced “Plans,” a new set of features that turns group‑chat discussions into actionable events without leaving the app. The update is designed to streamline the process of organizing gatherings, from birthday parties to study sessions and weekend outings, by allowing users to create event details directly within their conversations.
With Plans, a user can invite up to 200 friends, and the invitations are enhanced with dynamic Bitmoji that update as friends respond. RSVPs are tracked automatically, and reminders are sent to attendees before the event starts. A dedicated “My Plans” tab on each profile provides a quick overview of upcoming and past events, making it easier to keep track of social commitments.
The feature aims to keep all planning and coordination in one place, reducing the need to switch between apps. By integrating event creation, invitation, and reminder functions into Snapchat’s existing chat framework, the company hopes to encourage more spontaneous, in‑app meetups among its user base.
