Snapchat Adds Event-Planning Tools to Compete with Partiful
Snapchat has unveiled a suite of new tools designed to help users plan and coordinate events directly within the app. According to the company, the features—available to all users in the United States as of this week—allow people to create event pages, send invitations, and set reminders for occasions ranging from birthday parties to sports games.
The update adds a calendar‑style interface that lets organizers attach dates, times, and locations, while participants can RSVP, add their own notes, and receive push notifications as the event approaches. In addition, the platform now supports shared to‑do lists and the ability to pin relevant chats or media to the event page, giving groups a single hub for all logistics and conversation. Snapchat’s spokesperson said the tools are intended to streamline planning for both casual gatherings and more formal occasions, such as study groups or weekend outings.
By integrating event management into its core messaging experience, Snapchat aims to increase user engagement and keep the app competitive in a market where many social networks are adding similar functionality. The company has not yet disclosed usage metrics, but early reports suggest that the feature is already being adopted by a growing number of users looking for a convenient way to organize social activities without leaving the platform.
