Shipt Adds AI Shopping Assistant to Delivery Service
Shipt has announced a new feature that lets shoppers use the platform’s AI assistant to build customized grocery carts for specific occasions. According to the company, users can simply request a “tailgate cart for 25 people with brunch items” or a “cart for easy school lunches and after‑school snacks,” and the assistant will automatically populate the cart with appropriate products and quantities.
The assistant pulls from Shipt’s extensive inventory and can suggest items that fit the requested theme, such as pre‑made sandwiches, beverage options, and snack packs for the tailgate, or protein‑rich foods and healthy snacks for school lunches. Shipt says the feature streamlines the shopping experience, reducing the time shoppers spend manually adding items and ensuring they have everything needed for their event.
By leveraging AI to anticipate shoppers’ needs, Shipt aims to make grocery ordering more efficient and personalized. The company plans to expand the assistant’s capabilities to cover additional event types and dietary preferences in the coming months.
