Secret Cinema Plans New Venue
Planning permission was granted last month for a new 1,500‑seat venue on the Greenwich Peninsula. The approval, issued by the Greenwich Council, comes as part of the broader regeneration strategy for the area, which aims to enhance cultural and commercial amenities alongside residential development.
The proposed venue will be situated near the existing waterfront promenade, with access from the nearby rail and bus links. Designed to host concerts, conferences and community events, it will provide a flexible space for a range of performances and gatherings. The project is being led by a consortium of developers and cultural partners who have worked with the council to meet local planning requirements and community expectations.
With the planning decision now in place, the developers will move forward to secure funding and finalise design details. Once completed, the venue is expected to become a key asset for the Peninsula, boosting local economic activity and expanding the cultural landscape of Greenwich.
