Search for missing British surfer off Portugal ends

Surfer Arran Strong, 23, was declared missing after a routine training session off the coast of Portugal on 12 April. The Portuguese coast guard, in cooperation with the British Maritime and Coastguard Agency, launched a search operation that extended over several days but was ultimately called off on 18 April after no evidence of the surfer or his boat was found.

His wife, a local Portuguese resident, said the family was grateful for the support and that they would honour his memory by continuing to advocate for ocean safety.
