Savannah Police Department fires six officers over misuse of Flock camera system

Savannah Police Department announced on Monday that six officers and civilian staff members have been terminated following an internal investigation into the misuse of the department’s Flock safety management system. The review, conducted by the department’s internal affairs unit, concluded that the employees accessed, altered, and deleted system records without proper authorization, compromising the integrity of data used to monitor officer conduct and incident reporting.

The department’s spokesperson said the terminations are effective immediately and that the agency is reviewing additional security protocols to prevent future violations. A separate audit of the Flock system will be completed within the next 30 days, and the department will provide a public report on its findings and any further corrective actions. Savannah officials emphasized their commitment to maintaining transparent and accountable policing practices.
