Russian strikes kill at least nine, injure 14 in Kyiv and Odesa region

Nine civilians were killed and 14 injured in a series of Russian air strikes that struck Ukraine overnight, officials said. The attacks targeted the capital city of Kyiv, where a railway depot was hit, and also struck infrastructure in the southern Odesa region, according to Russia’s defence ministry. The incidents added to a growing pattern of night‑time raids on Ukrainian urban centres.

The strikes come amid a broader escalation of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, which have intensified in recent weeks. The increased frequency of air raids has forced the country to issue up to a dozen air‑raid alerts daily, disrupting the daily lives of millions of residents and causing widespread damage to civilian infrastructure.
