RSF Leader Orders Forces to Seize Khartoum

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) released a video on Thursday in which its commander, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo—commonly known as Hemedti—urged his troops to seize control of Khartoum, Sudan’s capital. In the footage, Hemedti addressed RSF soldiers, calling for an immediate offensive and emphasizing the need to secure key government sites.

The call follows a series of escalating clashes between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that have intensified since the 2023 coup attempt. Analysts note that the RSF’s public display of intent signals a shift toward a more aggressive posture, potentially altering the balance of power in the ongoing power struggle.
