Rogue Squirrel Briefly Overtakes Meta Office in Bangkok

A small animal that arrived concealed in a delivery package escaped inside Meta’s Bangkok office on Tuesday, prompting an emergency response after it injured a staff member. The incident occurred in the company’s central workplace in the city’s Sukhumvit district, where an employee was reportedly bitten on the hand while attempting to locate the source of the disturbance. Security personnel and local animal control were summoned, and the animal was subsequently captured without further harm to employees.

Meta’s Thailand office issued a statement confirming that the animal, identified as a monkey, was safely removed and that the injured employee received medical attention and is recovering. The company said it is cooperating with local authorities to investigate how the animal entered the premises and to review its package‑handling procedures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. No other injuries were reported, and operations at the office resumed after the situation was resolved.
