Roglic climbs to second in Vuelta after stage 18 time trial

Primož Roglič advanced to second place in the general classification after posting a fourth‑place finish in the individual time trial on stage 18 of the Vuelta a España. The Slovene rider narrowed the time deficit to race leader Enric Mas, reducing the gap to just under a minute as the race entered its final week. Roglič completed the 31.5‑kilometre course in 38 minutes and 12 seconds, trailing the stage winner by 18 seconds and gaining valuable seconds on several of his main rivals.

The result positions Roglič as the principal challenger to Mas with three stages remaining, including a mountain finish that could further reshuffle the standings. Team Jumbo‑Visma will aim to maintain the momentum while Mas and his Movistar squad seek to defend the lead. The Vuelta continues to intensify as the contenders prepare for the decisive climbs ahead.
