Qatar denies detaining three Iranian pilots shot down in March

Iran has accused Qatar of detaining three of its pilots who were shot down by a Qatari jet over the Gulf on 7 March. Doha’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Khalid Al‑Kuwari, said the country has no knowledge of any Iranian pilots being held there and that the incident was a tragic accident involving a civilian aircraft. Al‑Kuwari called for calm and for both sides to engage in dialogue to resolve the matter peacefully.
