Over 100,000 Sign Complaint Against Fifa President Gianni Infantino

A campaign known as Reboot Fifa has gathered more than 100,000 signatures in a formal complaint against FIFA president Gianni Infantino, accusing him of abusing his power, violating political neutrality and breaching loyalty duties. The petition alleges that Infantino’s interactions with former U.S. President Donald Trump have contributed to these breaches, and it also cites the organization’s handling of the 2026 World Cup as a key point of contention.

The complaint, launched ahead of the World Cup, has expanded to include additional grievances. Among them are the reversal of a red card issued to Folarin Balogun during the tournament and the cancellation of the FIFA Forward Enterprise scheme, a program intended to support grassroots football development. These allegations are framed as evidence of systemic governance failures within FIFA, with the campaign seeking a comprehensive review of the organization’s decision‑making processes.
