North Korea fires ballistic missiles; South Korea shares data with US and Japan

Seoul announced on Tuesday that it is maintaining close information exchanges with Washington and Tokyo following a series of missile launches attributed to North Korea. The statement from South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense said the three allies are sharing real‑time data on flight trajectories, launch sites and technical specifications to ensure a coordinated response and to safeguard regional security.

The latest launches, which included a short‑range ballistic missile that traveled approximately 600 kilometres before landing in the sea, prompted the trilateral communication framework established after previous provocations. Both the United States and Japan confirmed receipt of the shared intelligence and affirmed ongoing monitoring of North Korean activities. South Korean officials added that the cooperation will continue as part of routine defense coordination aimed at maintaining stability in the Korean Peninsula and surrounding waters.
