Rescuers in Nepal and China continued their search on Saturday for the nearly 3,000 people still missing after catastrophic flooding swept through villages along the two countries’ border earlier this week. The sudden deluge, which inundated entire settlements, prompted a coordinated emergency response from both governments and international aid agencies.

As of Saturday, officials have confirmed the recovery of at least 682 bodies, with 675 identified in Nepal and seven in China.
