NASA adds new Deep Space Network antenna in California desert
NASA announced the installation of a new high‑gain antenna to expand the capacity of its deep‑space communications network, which has been experiencing increasing demand from the Artemis lunar program and a growing roster of interplanetary missions. The antenna, slated for deployment at one of the agency’s Deep Space Network complexes later this year, will augment the existing array of 34‑meter and 70‑meter dishes, providing additional bandwidth and redundancy for transmitting and receiving data across the solar system.
