MIT Quantum Initiative Launches Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The Institute announced the arrival of its inaugural cohort of QMIT Fellows this fall, marking the launch of a new program designed to accelerate interdisciplinary quantum research. The fellowship, established in partnership with leading universities and industry collaborators, aims to bring together early‑career scientists from physics, chemistry, computer science, and engineering to address fundamental challenges in quantum materials, computation, and sensing.

The first group of ten fellows will receive three‑year appointments, a stipend, and access to the Institute’s state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and computational resources. Their research will focus on developing scalable quantum devices, exploring novel quantum phenomena, and translating discoveries into practical technologies. By fostering cross‑disciplinary collaboration, the QMIT Fellowship seeks to position the Institute as a hub for pioneering quantum science and to contribute to the broader national effort in advancing quantum technologies.
