Mexico seizes nearly 17 tonnes of meth from Sinaloa labs

Mexican federal authorities announced the seizure of almost 17 tonnes of methamphetamine after dismantling three clandestine laboratories in the state of Sinaloa. The operation, carried out by the National Guard in coordination with the Federal Police, uncovered the bulk of the drug in concealed containers and marked the largest methamphetamine bust recorded in the region to date.

Officials said the laboratories were part of a network that supplied large quantities of the stimulant to both domestic and international markets, underscoring Sinaloa’s role as a major hub for synthetic drug production. The seized material will be destroyed, and investigations continue to identify the individuals and criminal groups responsible for the operation, with authorities indicating that further arrests are expected as the case progresses.
