Mexican authorities rescue eight from cartel-run clandestine clinic
A joint rescue operation conducted by federal and state authorities in the Mexican state of Jalisco uncovered a concealed medical clinic used by a criminal organization, along with a cache of illegal narcotics and firearms. The raid, carried out in the municipality of Tepatitlán, resulted in the detention of six individuals believed to be armed guards for the cartel that operated the facility.
Investigators reported that the hidden clinic contained medical supplies and equipment consistent with treating injured cartel members, while the seized drugs included methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine in quantities sufficient for distribution. Authorities also recovered assault rifles, handguns and ammunition. The six detainees are being held on charges of organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, and the investigation remains ongoing as officials seek to determine the full extent of the cartel’s operations in the region.
