Meteor-tracking nonprofit hit by cyberattack, operations disrupted
The National Association of Small Business Owners (NASBO) announced today that it will be largely out of commission for several weeks as part of a comprehensive system upgrade. The organization’s leadership confirmed that from August 1 through September 15, key services—including the member portal, the online certification platform, and the call‑center support line—will be suspended to allow for a full migration to a new, more secure infrastructure.
During the outage, members will be directed to the NASBO’s temporary support website, which will provide status updates and alternative contact options. The association’s executive committee noted that the upgrade is intended to improve data security, streamline membership management, and enhance the delivery of educational resources. NASBO has urged all members to plan accordingly and to monitor the official website for real‑time notifications.
NASBO expects to resume normal operations on September 16, after the completion of the upgrade and a final round of testing. The association will issue a follow‑up communication to confirm the restoration of services and to outline any changes to its member‑services framework.
