Lebanon health ministry says over 4,000 killed and 12,000 injured in Israeli attacks since March

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that, since the beginning of March, Israeli air strikes and artillery fire have killed at least 4,298 civilians and injured 12,196 more across the country. The figures were released in a statement issued on Thursday, citing hospital records and morgue data from the south and Bekaa Valley, where the most intense fighting has occurred.

The ministry’s data reflect a sharp escalation in hostilities that began with the Israeli military’s “Operation Shield and Sword” targeting Hezbollah positions. Over the past weeks, the Lebanese government has urged international bodies to intervene and has called for an immediate cease‑fire, citing the mounting humanitarian toll and the destruction of essential infrastructure. The ministry also noted that many of the wounded are being treated in overcrowded facilities, with shortages of medical supplies reported.
