Koç University Validates Turkish AI Self‑Efficacy Scale

A recent study at Koç University School of Nursing has examined how university students perceive their ability to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Researchers led by Associate Professor Remziye Semerci Şahin and Assistant Professor Seda Güney adapted the Artificial Intelligence Self‑Efficacy Scale (AISES) for Turkish speakers and assessed its reliability and validity.

The investigation evaluated the psychometric properties of the Turkish AISES among a sample of university students, finding that the scale reliably measures perceived self‑efficacy in AI usage. The authors reported strong internal consistency and construct validity, suggesting the instrument is suitable for future research and educational interventions in Turkish‑speaking contexts.

The study, published in the International Journal of Human–Computer Interaction, contributes to the growing body of evidence on AI literacy and confidence among higher‑education students, providing a validated tool for assessing and enhancing AI competence in academic settings.
