Israeli Activists Protest EU in Jerusalem, Demand Stronger Gaza Stance

Around a dozen Israeli activists gathered outside the European Union representative offices in east Jerusalem on 28 August, demanding that the bloc take a stronger stance on the war in Gaza. The demonstrators, who were positioned near the offices of the EU’s delegations in the city, called for a more decisive response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip.

The protest came amid growing international pressure for the EU to clarify its position on the conflict, with many observers noting that the bloc’s statements to date have largely emphasized the need for a cease‑fire and humanitarian aid. The activists’ message was aimed at urging EU officials to adopt a firmer policy that would address the escalating violence and the humanitarian toll on Palestinian civilians.

While the demonstration was brief and did not involve any disruptions, it highlighted the continued domestic and international calls for a more robust EU engagement in the Gaza conflict. The EU has yet to announce any new policy changes following the protest.
