Israel threatens UK charities and protest groups over sanctions

Israel has warned the United Kingdom that it will face “consequences” if London proceeds with new sanctions aimed at curbing Israeli military activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Israeli government’s statement came after the UK announced measures that would restrict the export of certain dual‑use technologies and impose financial penalties on entities deemed to support the conflict. In response, Israeli officials said they would target a range of British organisations they consider to be facilitating the sanctions, including several charities, advocacy groups and the activist network Palestine Action.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry identified a list of UK charities and campaign groups that receive funding for humanitarian projects in Gaza, alleging that the aid is being diverted to support militant activities. It also announced legal and diplomatic steps to limit the operations of Palestine Action, which has organized high‑profile protests against Israeli policies. The ministry warned that any further UK actions perceived as hostile could lead to reciprocal restrictions on Israeli‑linked NGOs operating in Israel and the occupied territories, underscoring the escalating diplomatic tension between the two nations.
