Iran's IRGC threatens crushing response to any further US attacks

Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday that it will deliver a “crushing response” to any further attacks by the United States, warning that any additional strikes against Iranian interests would be met with decisive retaliation. The statement, released by the IRGC’s public affairs office, came after a U.S. airstrike earlier this week that targeted facilities linked to the militia in the Syrian capital, killing several senior commanders.

The IRGC’s vow escalated already heightened tensions between the two powers, which have been strained by a series of confrontations in the region, including the U.S. raid on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Damascus and reciprocal threats of retaliation. Iranian officials emphasized that the response would be proportional yet forceful, aiming to deter any future U.S. operations against Iranian assets.
