Instagram adds option to display tagged posts on profile grid
Instagram has introduced a new function that allows users to transfer photos and videos from the Tagged tab directly onto their main profile grid. The feature, announced in the platform’s latest update, lets users select any post in which they have been tagged and add it to the curated gallery that appears on their profile page. This change aims to give creators more control over the content that represents them publicly, while still preserving the original post on the original account.
The process is straightforward: after opening the Tagged section, users can tap the three‑dot menu on a post and choose “Add to Profile.” The selected media then appears in the same order as other posts on the user’s profile, and the original tagged post remains unchanged on the account that originally posted it. Instagram has clarified that the feature is available to all users who have a public or private account and that it does not affect the visibility of the original post.
By enabling this transfer, Instagram is responding to feedback from influencers and everyday users who wish to showcase tagged content without cluttering the original poster’s feed. The move also aligns with the platform’s broader strategy of enhancing profile customization while maintaining the integrity of community interactions.
