Iran‑backed Houthi forces have escalated their attacks on Saudi Arabia, extending the conflict to the waters around the Bab el‑Mandeb Strait—a key maritime chokepoint for global trade and oil shipments. On France 24, Farea Al‑Muslimi, chairman of the Sanaa Center for Strategic Studies, warned that the current escalation could represent “the last round in Yemen’s current war.” She highlighted the Houthis’ close ties with Iran and the mounting pressure on Washington as the group continues to strike U.S. allies.
