Houthi leader warns Saudi of full escalation as Red Sea defence coalition launches

Abdul‑Malik al‑Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement, issued a warning to Saudi Arabia that it would face an “all‑out response” hours before the kingdom announced a new multinational maritime defence coalition. The Saudi announcement came with a founding statement signed by 14 countries, including Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt, aimed at safeguarding shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
