Haugset leads Tour de France Femmes time trial to Dijon by 2:02
The 21‑kilometre individual time trial from Gevrey‑Chambertin to Dijon has begun, with Norwegian rider Ane Haugset taking the early lead. On Monday she secured a dramatic breakaway win, and now she sits 2 minutes and 2 seconds ahead of France’s Kim Le Court as the peloton pushes to close the gap. Haugset, wearing her Norwegian champion’s jersey, said she was motivated by her teammates and the support from home, adding that she had to “give it her all” for the occasion.
In the early stages of the race, Haugset’s time of 11 hours, 17 minutes and 56 seconds has positioned her firmly at the front of the field. Le Court follows with a +2:02 margin, while Dutch riders Demi Vollering and Marianne Vos trail by +2:06 and +2:10 respectively. Swiss rider N Ruegg and other contenders are also within a minute of the leader, but the gap remains significant as the riders tackle the rolling terrain toward Dijon.
Meanwhile, riders and teams are preparing for a potential re‑route of the upcoming Mont Ventoux stage due to ongoing wildfires in the region. Organisers have announced contingency plans that could alter the course, but the time trial itself proceeds as scheduled. The stage will test the riders’ time‑trialling abilities before the high‑altitude challenge that follows.
